Our Mission

We're Taking Jesus to the World

A New Mission is underway

A New Mission is underway

Our Founding Journey

Our Mission began shortly after the ordination of Rev. Dr Marcus R. Tinajero to the Priesthood of the Polish National Catholic Church. After being ordained, the bishop tasked Rev. Marcus, along with Cleric Robert, to begin a mission in the San Antonio Area. Trusting in Our Lord, and acknowledging obedience to his Bishop, Rev. Marcus began to establish the mission church of St. Jude the Apostle PNCC.

After utilizing many resources in finance, ecumenical dialogue, and ministry, St Jude the Apostle, PNCC had a temporary home at San Pedro Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, TX. After some time of having services there, St. Jude the Apostle PNCC found another temporary home with All Saints Episcopal Church in Pleasanton, TX. Presently, St. Jude the Apostle PNCC continues to seek a permanent residence. Your donations are greatly appreciated, and we pray you can assist.

Joining the PNCC and Expanding Our Mission

A New Chapter

We cordially invite you to join us for Holy Mass on Sundays at 8AM in Spanish and 1PM in English at 1435 Oaklawn Dr. Pleasanton Texas, as well as during the week. Additionally, we offer a live stream of our Mass on YouTube at @StJudeTheApostlePNCC, and we encourage you to connect with us online.

St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church is part of the Buffalo-Pittsburgh Diocese of the Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC), which was founded in 1897 by Bishop Francis Hodur to serve Polish nationals. Our parish in San Antonio was established by Fr. Marcus R. Tinajero, Ph.D., Cleric Robert Grizzell, with the blessing of our Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. John E. Mack and Prime Bishop Anthony Mikovsky, to address the diverse needs of the Hispanic community and the broader population of San Antonio.

As a congregation, we uphold Catholic faith and traditions, recognizing the validity of all seven Sacraments alongside the Roman Catholic Church (with whom we are in dialogue via canon 844.2). Our Masses are conducted in both English and Spanish, fostering inclusivity within our community.

We engage in various spiritual practices, including praying the rosary, conducting novenas, and holding benedictions. The Holy Eucharist is administered through intinction (host is dipped in wine and placed on the tongue) ONLY, allowing congregants to receive the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in a manner that respects individual preferences for kneeling or standing.

Our devotion to Our Lady, the Blessed Mother (Guadalupe & Częstochowa), and the saints serves as a guiding example of Christian living.

Finally, as a jurisdiction, we welcome married men into the priesthood, allowing for the ordination of married priests from other apostolic churches, and permitting them to ascend to the role of bishop. Also, priests and deacons may be ordained before or after marriage, and divorced individuals are also welcome to receive and participate in the Sacraments, including holy communion. Our governance is led by our Prime Bishop, with the Church headquarters located in Scranton, PA, and we encompass five dioceses across the U.S. and Canada, along with parishes in Norway and Italy.

Our Catholic Faith and Sacred Traditions

Rich in Tradition and scripture

Our faith and tradition are Catholic, and our Church recognizes seven Sacraments, which are recognized by the Roman Catholic Church. Our Masses are in English and Spanish.

We are a small Christian community. We pray the rosary, novenas, and adoration to the Blessed Sacrament. We receive the Holy Eucharist under both species, and the people are free to kneel or stand to receive the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The reception of Holy Communion is via Intinction. This is where the consecrated host is dipped into the consecrated wine, which becomes the blood of Christ, and is then placed on the tongue. Communion in the hand is not permitted in the Polish National Catholic Church

We have great devotion and respect for the Blessed Mother of Our Lord Jesus and the saints who have modeled for us how to live the Christian Life.
